HERRING

A dagger that enters the history of our country in the Second World War, thanks to the young soldiers exploits of the 1st Reconnaissance Squadron “Folgore”, which were equipped with this weapon during Operation Herring.

A dagger that has behind it an heroic piece of history about which little is said, despite the devotion to the cause and the courage of these young boys have written an important page of Italian history.

Extrema Ratio wanted to pay homage to this dagger keeping the original design using the most modern production techniques.

The unique handmade finish of the handle imitates the ageing of the brass and it gives the dagger a dated look, similar to the original one. The dagger was developed in collaboration with 185th RRAO and adopted as a ceremonial commemorative dagger for the 20 years since the regiment’s constitution and 75 years since the Herring mission.

Both versions (Herring and Herring NE) are equipped with a polymer case with historical frieze of the Squadrone F, leather / kydex sheath with brass point and two commemorative scrolls.

HERRING NE: Simulacrum replica with rounded point. The blade comes out of the factory, in order to consent the free selling and detention according to the current Italian law. We warn that any subsequent modification and sharpening made to the blade modify the status of simulacrum of the Herring NE. In this case it will be subject to the regulations in force in the respective countries. Also, such changes will invalidate the Extrema Ratio guarantee
